UPDATE** Carlotta and "Friends" - 1 Mom, 7 Kittens

UPDATE - Carlotta and the babies all came down with major Upper Respiratory Infections and have been taken to a Cat Rescue that deals with sick kittens to get better.

Until we know further, these cats will be deemed Rescued, and will still be available for adoption once they are returned to BARCS.

Carlotta can be a hero even by the strictest of standards. Rescued and brought into BARCS with only one kitten, she selflessly adopted and nursed SIX more! She's saved the lives of the two river kittens, Chandler and Ross, and has tended to the health of all seven tirelessly.

Carlotta is a very gentle, sweet girl. She can be timid at first, but a gentle scratch will lure her next to you for some purrs and low meows. She's black and white with a black-tipped nose and a black oval spot under her chin. She's a smaller cat, perfect for holding and rubbing her ears. She warms up to people really quickly and just wants a home that will love her like she's loved her six adopted babies.

Phoebe - A10218803 - White/Gray - Kitten / Female / Born 04.01.10

Phoebe is a very curious gray kitten with white paws, chin and belly. She loves to be held and to climb. She's very adventurous even at such a young age.

Joey - A10218805 - Blk/Gray Tabby - Kitten / Male / Born 04.01.10

Joey is a black and gray striped tabby. He is very expressive and loves to play with the other kittens. He's very gentle and affectionate.

Ross - A10249421 - Black - Kitten / Male / Born 04.01.10

Ross is all black with blue eyes. He's one of the smallest kittens but he's got the biggest heart. Ross loves to curl up and purr. He'd much rather be snuggled up next to his favorite human than rough-housing with the other kitties.

Ross came to BARCS with a harrowing, death-defying tale. A Good Samaritan was walking his dog along Herring Stream when he saw a man throw a bag off of a bridge into the water. Curious he walked over to discover four kittens. These poor little ones were soaked and already freezing. Too tiny to be without a mother, he rushed them to BARCS where the four kittens were divided amongst two nursing mothers. Ross and Chandler were adopted by Carlotta and have been steadily getting stronger. Despite the cruelty shown to them by the hands of the stranger, they've had nothing but love for people. We're all very thankful for the actions of that Good Samaritan that day.

Gunther - A10218806 - Orange Tabby - Kitten / Male / Born 04.01.10

Gunther is an orange and white striped Tabby. He's one of the larger kittens and is very vocal. He loves to talk and climb and snuggle. He loves people and is already a very social cat. He's a good eater, so be sure not to skip any meals with this little guy!

Chandler - A10249430 - Black/White Spots - Kitten / Male / Born 04.01.10

Chandler is Ross's brother. Rescued from the freezing waters of Herring Stream by a Good Samaritan, Chandler came to BARCS dripping wet, freezing cold, and needing love. Carlotta had a big enough heart for this little guy and with good reason! Similar in personality to Ross, Chandler is a people lover, a snuggler, and a purring machine!

Chandler is all black with a white v-shaped spot on his chest and white spots on his belly and armpits. He's got blue eyes just like his brother and is smaller than the other kittens, but what he lacks in size he makes up for in absolute cuteness.

Monica - A10218802 - Gray/Tan Calico - Kitten / Female / Born 04.01.10

Monica and Rachel look very similar despite not being biological sisters. Monica has more tan on her face than Rachel. Monica likes to venture out and explore. Not one to be confined, she likes open spaces. She's a people lover though, and would rather explore the landscape of your lap than anything else.

Rachel - A10213725 - Gray/Tan Calico - Kitten / Female / Born 04.01.10

Rachel is Carlotta's only biological kitten. When Carlotta was brought into BARCS she had Rachel with her and then adopted the other 6 kittens.

Rachel is a beautiful gray and tan calico. She has tan markings on her paws and slight tan markings on her face. She's got a great appetite and loves to stand in the middle of any food dish to eat. She's a climber, and loves to crawl into people's laps.
